Neil was previously Managing Director of People and Innovation, specialising in non-financial risk management and business continuity. Neil also has considerable experience in the environmental, social and governance areas of corporate responsibility.

Neil’s experience in corporate governance comes from numerous Boards positions, being a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an examiner for the AICD advanced course; Mastering the Board Room.

Neil’s background is in the management of large organisations.  In recent times, he was CEO of one of Australians largest Fire Service with 60,000 fire fighters staffing 1300 fire stations.  He has also managed a number of SMEs with turnovers of approximately $20 million, significantly improving the bottom line.

He has international work experience, having worked with the organisations in the UK, USA and China on common issues including the position of Australian Director on the International Assoc. of Fire Chiefs, Asia and a member of the Confederation of Fire Protection Associations, Asia.  Neil has been involved in aid programs Vietnam, Papua New Guinea and Fiji.

Neil has been involved in innovation and commercialization through research commissioned by him and involvement in Cooperative Research Centres.
